Since 1986, Fairfax Chimney and Fence has operated based on three primary ideals: Honesty. Cleanliness. Professionalism. John and his crew have extensive experience in both chimneys and fences – a unique combination, to be sure, but one which is responsive to the seasonal needs of our clients! No job is too small nor too large for us. As a certified chimney sweep, John is hands-on with his team, supervising every job. In the fence arena, the team includes full-time employees, not subcontracted workers, so you know you can depend on the quality of our work. Born and raised in the Northern VA area (Bishop O'Connell HS, JMU), John is a local business owner who is active in the community. He was involved with the Springfield Youth Club (SYC) for years and was at one time a state licensed soccer coach and a soccer referee.  John is a husband, father of two and an Ironman/triathlete. As a company, we take pride in being one of the few locally owned and operated buisnesses in Northern VA and believe that shopping local is shopping smart. Fairfax Chimney and Fence has sponsored several local races/5k fun runs such as The Turkey Trot for Parkinson's in Lorton, VA and often participates in community based events.

National Chimney Sweep Guild

The National Chimney Sweep Guild (NCSG) is a non-profit membership-based trade association for the chimney service industry and represents more than 1,100 chimney service companies nationwide. NCSG is dedicated to promoting the success of its members by providing progressive services, encouraging professionalism and ethical accountability, and advancing the chimney and venting industry through public awareness of the trade.

Chimney Safety Institute of America

CSIA is committed to the elimination of residential chimney fires, carbon monoxide intrusion and other chimney-related hazards that result in the loss of lives and property. To achieve these goals, CSIA devotes its resources to educating the public, chimney and venting professionals and other fire prevention specialists about the prevention and correction of chimney and venting system hazards.

I have continuously held and maintained the CSIA Certification for over 32 years.  The CSIA Certification is a VOLUNTARY program put forth by the National Chimney Sweep Guild designed to train INDIVIDUALS in proper techniques, safety issue and codes.  The Certified Sweep signs a written code of ethics and fair business practices as part of the program.  We pay annual dues to fund the program and we pay retesting fees every 3 years.
